Spontaneous shutdown in Soura, Nagbal after local youth injured in forces action battles for life

Srinagar: A spontaneous shutdown is being observed in Nagbal and Soura areas as a youth from Ganderbal district injured in government forces action in Shopian district yesterday battles for life at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura.

Witnesses said that all shops and business establishments are shut in Nagbal and Soura areas while a thin movement of traffic was witnessed on roads.

Earlier the local residents held a protest at Nagbal chowk and blocked the road.

Locals said that Mohammed Rafiq Parray (30), a resident of Rangil area of Nagbal in Ganderbal district, was critically injured after forces opened fire on the mourners during the funeral of Al Badr commander Zeenat ul Islam yesterday.

The youth is admitted at SKIMS and has been put on the ventilator.
