NC-Congress to contest Lok Sabha polls jointly: Omar Abdullah

SRINAGAR: National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that the NC and the Congress will be joining forces to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections together.

Speaking to media representatives during a youth convention at Nawa-e-Subh Srinagar, Omar Abdullah highlighted the collaborative efforts between the two parties. He mentioned that NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah has been actively campaigning for Congress candidates in the Jammu division, reciprocated by the Congress’s assurance of support to NC in the Kashmir region.

Omar Abdullah further elaborated that both parties would field joint candidates on all seats across Jammu and Kashmir.

Reflecting on the challenges faced during the previous elections, Omar Abdullah expressed hope that the people of Srinagar would turn out in large numbers on May 11 to vote for NC.

Furthermore, Omar Abdullah voiced concerns over security arrangements for their star campaigners and reported interference in their scheduled programs.
