Srinagar, Nov 08: The ongoing probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the sub-inspector recruitment test scam has revealed that the question paper was leaked by a local of Rewari Haryana who was arrested by the agency on September 19.
A spokesman of the CBI said during investigation, it was found that the question paper was leaked by the accused namely Yitin Yadav of Rewari Haryana with the help of an employee of a printing press.
Yadav, a resident of Rewari, Haryana was arrested on September 19, 2022 and is in judicial custody.
The CBI probe also revealed that the Yadav contacted touts based in J&K including constables of J&K police & CRPF for soliciting candidates who were charged amounts ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh(approx) for the paper.
“The candidates were allegedly taken to Karnal in Haryana and question paper was provided to them at a hotel there. The leaked question paper was also allegedly provided to candidates at Gangyal and Jammu,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman further said that the CBI today conducted searches at seven locations including at Jammu, Pathankot, Rewari & Karnal, (both in Haryana) as part of investigation in the scam.
CBI had registered the case on August 3, 2022 on the request of Government of J&K to investigate the allegations of irregularities in written examination conducted by J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on March 27, 2022 for recruitment of 1200 sub-inspectors of J&K Police. The result of this examination was declared on June 04, 2022
In this case 13 accused including a Commandant of BSF, an ASI & two constables of J&K police, a CRPF constable, an ex -CRPF official, one teacher were earlier arrested. Searches were also earlier conducted at around 77 locations including the premises of the then Chairman & Controller of JKSSB.
