Jammu, Jun 13: Border Security Force (BSF) troops and unidentified gunmen suspected to be militants exchanged gunfire on the International Border (IB) in Arnia sector of Jammu district after which a search operation has been launched in the area.

BSF said it has been informed that alert BSF troops observed suspicious movement close to IB in Arnia sector yesterday night at about 09:30 PM.

BSF troops challenged on which armed men fired and BSF retaliated by firing few bursts towards them due to which they ran back, it said.

“A search operation was carried out early morning but nothing has been recovered so far,” the BSF statement added.
