New Delhi: India has advised its citizens in Afghanistan to make immediate travel arrangements to return home before commercial air services are discontinued, All India Radio (AIR) reported.
As violence in many parts of Afghanistan has escalated, commercial air travel services to many provinces and cities are getting discontinued.
In a security advisory issued today, New Delhi advised Indian companies operating in Afghanistan to immediately withdraw their Indian employees out of project sites in Afghanistan before air travel services get discontinued, the report said.
Indian nationals working for Afghan or foreign companies in Afghanistan have been asked to immediately request their employer to facilitate their travel from project sites to India, it added.
Earlier Consulate General of India in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan asked Indian nationals in and around Mazar-e-Sharif to leave for India in the special flight scheduled to depart late this evening.
The AIR reported that the Indian citizens desiring to leave by special flight have been asked to convey their full name, passport number, and date of expiry by Whatsapp at the following numbers: 0785891303, 0785891301.
