JRL calls for Kashmir shutdown tomorrow

Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called for a state wide shutdown on April 23.

The shutdown, JRL said, has been called against the detention of Yasin Malik, who was shifted from Jammu jail to the custody of National Investigation Agency in New Delhi; against the Kashmir Highway ban of the government barring civilian vehicular movement from Udhampur to Uri, first for two days a week, later amended to Sundays only; against the suspension of cross-Line of Control trade.

Ministry of Home Affairs in its order said that cross LOC trade routes are being used for in flow of money, narcotics and weapons, hence suspending the trade immediately.
