Srinagar: Scores of people sustained injuries during clashes between youths and government forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian town on Saturday.

Reports said that scores of youth pelted stones on CRPF personnel deployed at district court complex soon after culmination of Eid prayers.

The forces however retaliated by firing pellets and tear gas into the protesters. During the protests at least eight people sustained injuries, they said.

The injured were shifted to a local hospital for treatment.
