Two soldiers die in Rajouri road accident, three injured

Rajouri, Apr 29: Two soldiers died while 3 sustained injuries after an army ambulance skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Keri Sector along the Line of Control in the Rajouri district of Jammu region.

The mishap occurred near the mountainous area of Chati Bakri close to the Line of Control on Saturday late afternoon.

Official sources said  that an army ambulance with five soldiers including the driver on board skidded off the road and fell into 200 feet gorge.

They said it took time for the rescue teams to reach the area due to the dilapidated roads. Two soldiers were retrieved dead and three other soldiers were shifted to hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.

Official sources identified the two deceased soldiers as Param Veer Singh, a native of Rajouri, and Sudhir Kumar, a resident of the Northern Indian state of Bihar. knt
