Police seize over 11 Kgs heroin worth Rs 70 cr, 2 held in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 6: Police on Thursday said that two cross-border narco smugglers were arrested by Srinagar Police with 11.089 Kgs of Heroin worth Rs 70 crore in international market.

ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said Rs 11,82,500 was also seized from the duo namely Sajjad Ahmad Badana of Nachyan, Karnah and Zaheer Ahmad Tanch of Amroyi Karnah Kupwara. “Drugs had come from Pakistan,” the ADGP Kashmir said in a tweet.

Later in a statement, police said that both the arrested accused were residing in a rented accommodation owned by one Ghulam Mohd Dar of kursoo Rajbagh.

“FIR no 17/2023 has been registered under sections 8,21,29 of NDPS act in Rajbagh police station,” he said, adding, “Initial questioning of the accused has revealed that the consignment of these drugs had come from Pakistan.” Investigation of the case is in full swing, he added.
