Srinagar February 10: The Associated Chamber of Commerce Industries Kashmir (CCIK) in a press statement said that it has received many complaints of disconnection of power supply from consumers which is very unfortunate in harsh winter.

The President CCIK Tariq Ghani said that JKPDCL should not do such human actions which cause inconvenience to the general public.

CCIK said the consumers who are defaulters should be given a time limit to clear their bills so that people don’t face inconvenience in harsh winter.

It said the bills of chronic defaulters should be given 50% rebate on bills and the remaining 50% should be given a time bound period to clear their bills in installments.

CCIK requested the  Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and Chief Engineer JKPDCL to look into the matter and do the favourable for the defaulter consumers as they are still experiencing harsh winter and without electric supply it is impossible to live a normal life.

CCIK also requested amnesty for commercial bills so that dues are cleared within the time period which will be a big relief for the business community.
