Two militants killed in Budgam: Police

Srinagar: Two militants have been killed in a brief encounter with security forces in main chowk near court area of Budgam district, police said here on Tuesday.

The police futher said that on specific input, the joint area domination party of Army and Police tried to stop one suspected vehicle, militants fired upon.

“In retaliation, the security forces fired at the militants, triggering a brief gunfight gunfight and subsequently two militants were killed,” it said.

“On specific input, the joint area domination party of Army & Police tried to stop one suspected vehicle, terrorists fired upon and in retaliation two Militants were killed. Arms/ammunition recovered,” said the Kashmir police zone in a tweet while confirming the killing of two militant.

The two slain militants were affliated with Lashkar-i-Toiba militant outfit, Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said on Tuesday.

While quoting ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, The Kashmir Zone Police in tweet wrote, “Both the killed militants are identified as Arbaaz Mir and Shahid Sheikh of Pulwama linked with the proscribed militant outfit LeT. Both the militants earlier escaped from recent encounter,”..
