Terrorism biggest threat to humanity: LG Manoj Sinha

‘We must fight against it in all forms and manifestations’

Rajouri, Oct 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Friday said that terrorism is the biggest threat to humanity and they will fight against it.

Addressing a programme for martyrs of 22nd October 1947 attack at Rajouri, Sinha said that terrorism must be opposed in all forms and manifestations.

In a covert reference of supporters of militancy, Sinha said that by reading international magazines and international newspapers a clear answer will be provided about the names of supporters of terrorism. “The people of J&K deserve a new dawn of success and prosperity and peace is the only way towards progress and prosperity.”

He said that hurdles will come in the way of development but “we all should stand united to fight against all the conspiracies and we will definitely succeed.”

“I pay homage to all the martyred soldiers and civilians of 1947 attack. Modi government is committed to bring peace, prosperity and development in the lives of people of J&K. The future of 1.25 crore citizens of J&K will touch sky and Modi Government will make this dream come true,” he said.

He said that it is high time we all should join our efforts to defeat the forces who are threatening the human lives and values. “Let us make a strong commitment to uphold the country’s tradition of non-violence and tolerance by promoting peace, unity, social harmony and brotherhood.”

“We all should remain in harmony and keep the brotherhood intact for the betterment of our country.”

LG Sinha was speaking at programme organised to pay homage to the martyrs of October 22nd 1947. The programme was organized to mark a protest towards the killings of soldiers and civilians of October 22nd 1947 attacks. The organisers condemned the recent civilian killings which took place in the valley over the past few days.

They said that no religion teaches innocent killings. A solidarity march was also held by the organisers to UN office and said that they will submit a memorandum against Pakistan for the war crimes which are being carried out in J&K.

“What was the mistake of that principal, of that golgappa wala or of Bindroo Sahab and other innocent civilians. We believe in pluralism, cultural diversity, ethnic diversity and Pakistan wants to end these things in our UT,” they added. kns
