COVID-19: 12 dead , 701 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 14: Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday recorded 12 Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1352 in the Union Territory while 701 positive cases were reported, pushing the J&K tally up to 85409.

Of the total 85,409 cases, 51,183 are from Kashmir and 34,226 from Jammu division.

Officials said that among 701 new cases, 437 belong to Kashmir division while as 264 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 51,183 including 44,377 recoveries and 909 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 34,226 including 29,941 recoveries and 443 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 9,739 including 5,897 from Kashmir division and 3,842 from Jammu division.

With 816 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 74,318 which is ( 87.01) percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 163 from Srinagar, 43 from Budgam, 70 from Baramulla, 26 from Pulwama, 23 from Kupwara, 28 from Anantnag, 32 from Bandipora, 35 from Ganderbal, 08 from Kulgam and 09 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 264 from Jammu division include 128 from Jammu, 22 from Rajouri, 21 from Udhampur, 11 from Doda, 09 from Kuthua, 18 from Poonch, 13 from Samba, 28 from Kishtiwar, 9 from Ramban and 5 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, twelve persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include six from Kashmir division and six from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include five from Srinagar and one each from Shopian in Kashmir division while as six deaths from Jammu division include three from Jammu district and one from Rajouri and two from Udhampur.

As per officials figures, 17,064 positive cases including 325 deaths and 14,969 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,515 including 90 deaths and 4,790 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,033 including 3,440 recoveries and 132 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,316 including 3,971 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,969 including 70 deaths and 3,296 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,843 including 3,416 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,752 cases including 3,358 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,225 including 2,942 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,357 including 2,228 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,111 including 1,967 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 15,630 including 14,152 recoveries and 230 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,057 including 2,588 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,537 including 2,320 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,422 including 1,979 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Doda, 2,289 including 2,186 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,047 including 1,363 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,023 including 1,612 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Samba, 1,588 including 1,409 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,471 including 1,369 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban and 1162 including 963 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 618,854 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 24,191 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 9,739 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 534,151 persons have completed surveillance period and 49,421 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,902,884 samples are available.

Out of 1,902,884 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,817,475 while 85,409 have tested positive, among them 9,739 are active, 74,318 persons have recovered and 1,352 persons have died.
