1235 new covid-19 cases in J&K, total reaches 66261

Srinagar, Sept 22: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday recorded 1,235 fresh positive cases of deadly virus, taking the tally of positive cases to 66,261 in the Union Territory while as 18 more people died due to the Covid infection pushing the death toll up to 1042.

Of the total 66,261 cases, 42,059 are from Kashmir and 24,202 from Jammu division.

Officials said that among 1,235 new cases, 499 belong to Kashmir division while as 736 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 42,059 including 32,277 recoveries and 789 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 24,202 including 11,457 recoveries and 253 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 21,485 including 8,993 from Kashmir division and 12,492 from Jammu division.

With 1,619 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 43,734 which is 66.002 percent of the total cases and was over 78 percent over two weeks back.

Notably, the active cases have reached over 21,000 in Jammu and Kashmir and active cases in Jammu division are more than recovered cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 210 from Srinagar, 59 from Budgam, 30 from Baramulla,  62 from Pulwama, 28 from Anantnag,  36 from Bandipora, 22 from Kupwara, 21 from Ganderbal, 12 from Kulgam and 19 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 736 from Jammu division include 253 from Jammu, 68 from Rajouri, 64  from Udhampur,  41 from Kathua, 98 from Doda, 52 from Samba, 73 from Poonch, 35 from Ramban, 15 from Reasi and 37 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, 18 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include 11 from Kashmir division and seven from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include four from Srinagar, three from Anantnag and two each from Baramulla and Bandipora in Kashmir division while as 07 from Jammu division include five from from Jammu district and two from Doda.

As per officials figures, 13,409 positive cases including 272 deaths and 11,11 recoveries are from Srinagar, 4,483 including 78 deaths and 2,788 recoveries are from Budgam, 3,953 including 2,651 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,650 including 3,019 recoveries and 63 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,316 including 62 deaths and 2,445 recoveries are from Anantnag, 3,213 including 2,212 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,243 cases including 2,305 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,637 including 2,011 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,200 including 2,001 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 1,955 including 1,731 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 10,675 including 4,669 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,220 including 940 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,891 including 1,191 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Udhampur, 1,794 including 1,104 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kathua, 1,843 including 611 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Doda, 1,500 including 664 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Samba, 1,453 including 580 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Poonch, 1,127 including  742 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Ramban, 781 including 465 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Reasi and 918 including 491 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 551,008 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 28,480 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 21,485 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 438,048 persons have completed surveillance period and 61,953 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,436,409 samples are available.

Out of 1,436,409 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,370,148 while 66,261 have tested positive, among them 21,485 are active, 43,734 persons have recovered and 1042 persons have died.
