Militants shot dead 5 BJP workers in a month

Srinagar, Aug 10: In the span of one month, militants have shot dead five BJP workers including three of a family here in Kashmir Valley.

These attacks have created ripples among BJP workers who are demanding security even as BJP Spokesperson Altaf Thakur is demanding safe accommodation in every district headquarters for BJP workers.

Lat month on 8 July militants shot dead Bandipora face of BJP Waseem Bari, his brother Umar Sheikh and father Bashir Sheikh.

A month later on 9 August militants gunned down BJP worker Hamid Jamal Najar in Ompara Budgam.

On 6 August sarpanch Sajjad Khanday was killed in South Kashmir’s Qazigund area outside his residence. Another BJP sarpanch Arif Ahmad Shah was also critically wounded in the attack by militants in Kulgam district in the first week of this month. (KNT)
