New Delhi, Jun 8: Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to Jammu and Kashmir government on a petition challenging house arrest of Congress leader Saifuddin Soz since August last year.

A bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra sought the government’s response within two weeks on the habeas corpus petition filed by Soz’s wife challenging her husband’s detention and posted the matter for further hearing in July.

Soz’s wife Mumtazunnisa has sought immediate direction for his release.
