Bandipora: Government forces on Sunday launched a cordon and search operation in Chanpora village of Gundpora area in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Reports reaching  said that a joint team of Government forces including army’s 14 RR and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a cordon-and-search operation at Chanpora village of Gundpora.

Reports added whole area has been cordoned off and door-to-door searches are underway in the area.

Official sources also confirmed the incident and said that the cordon was launched following inputs about the movement of some suspected militants.

“The deployment of forces has surrounded the area and searches are going on,”
