Srinagar: A former PDP activist and a Panch who was injured critically after being shot at by unidentified gunmen at Shalipora village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday evening succumbed to injuries.

A senior doctor at SMHS hospital confirmed that the panch Abdul Majeed Dar succumbed to injuries at around 11:15 pm on Wednesday. His body is being taken by the family to his native village for last rites.

Late last evening masked gunmen barged inside the house of Abdul Majeed Dar and fired upon him.

According to officials, Majeed was a panch and had contested as an independent candidate after he quit PDP as a party activist.
