Govt assures us progression scheme, but never approved: Kashmiri engineers

Srinagar: Engineers working in different departments across Kashmir Valley have cried betray in wake of callous attitude being adopted by the government towards them.

All J&K Civil Engineering Graduate Association alleged that government has been doing nothing to address their long pending grievances.

The Association said that Engineers being the backbone of all the developmental activities of state feel betrayed by the step motherly treatment by the successive governments.

The engineers said that the government assured progression scheme that was even approved by the previous government and acknowledged in the budget 2017-18, but yet the SRO is not issued.

They said that SRO-42 of 2011 was issued in the year 2011 which removed the anomaly of JE Grade from Grade Pay of 4200 to 2260, but the clerical error is still not being rectified in spite of 8 years delay.

They said that ‘Field Travel Allowance’ of Junior Engineers is Rs 30 per month but has never been enhanced from past 40 years.

They added that the menace of adhoc promotion system in Engineering Departments has polluted the departments.

They appealed Governor Administration to address their problems.
