Srinagar: Army on Monday said that it killed three militants in Tangdar sector of Jammu and Kashmir Kupwara district while foiling an infiltration bid.

One army personnel was also killed in the encounter with the militants.

An army spokesperson told The Kashmir Press that the killing of the three militants has taken the total toll of killed militants to five in the ongoing operation that started Saturday afternoon.
He said that the operations are still in progress.

The encounter started near LoC in Tangdar on Saturday after army claimed foiling an infiltration bid at eagle post-Karnah.

An official said that gunfight broke out between army’s 20 Jat and militants in Tangdar area following infiltration bid at eagle post-Karnah.
