Anantnag: Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted near the encounter site where militants and  government forces are trading heavy gunfire in Muniward Anantnag.

Locals said that people  came on streets and clashed with police.

“Pro freedom sloganeering is going on  and protests are swelling,” a local claimed.

Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Muniward area of Anantnag District on Wednesday morning.

According to locals heavy exchange of gunfire is going on.

Government forces had launched an anti militancy operation in the areas following inputs of militants presence in the area.

“Two millitants are believed to be trapped,” a police official said.

Meanwhile authorities have snapped internet services in the district .
