Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum has threatened of launching a state-wide protest from Monday in favour of their demands which include implementation of seventh pay commission and de-linking of salaries from MHRD to state budget.
In a statement, the Forum said the state-wide protests will start from Monday with Directorate Gherao at Srinagar and on Eid-ul-Azha, the teachers will protest at Pratap Park Srinagar which will be followed by a march to Raj Bhavan.
The decision was taken by the forum in a state executive meeting held here in which zonal presidents, district presidents and state apex body members were present, the statement said.
During the meeting which was held under the chairmanship of state forum chairman Farooq Ahmed Tantray, the forum representatives throughout the state presented their views regarding the delay in implementation of 7th pay commission in favour of more than 41000 ReT teachers of the state.
“During the past one year, so many committees were formed to solve the issues of ReT teachers but nothing has been done so far. They were regularized in the state under government order number 396 and were given all the benefits like other employees of the state and after the recent implementation of seventh pay commission they were not given the benefits of this commission due to reasons better known to the government,” the meeting observed.
