Srinagar: Three persons including a driver, were killed when a fruit laden truck skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge on Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Friday morning, a police spokesman said.
He said a truck carrying fruit from north Kashmir on its way to Jammu rolled down into a deep gorge at Battery Cheshma at 0400 hrs.
He said rescue operation was immediately launched and the bodies were recovered. The deceased were identified as Riyaz Ahmad, son of Abdul Aziz , Abdul Hameed, son of Abdul Gani and Mazhoor Ahmad , son of Mohammad Suliman all the residents of Lolab in north Kashmir district of Kupwara.
