Kolkata: Speculation is rife on Federal Front to counter the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha election with the arrival of former J&K chief minister and National Conference

supremo Omar Abdullah, who is expected to call on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at State Secretariat at Nabanna later on Friday.

Sources at party level of Trinamool Congress said the visit of NC leader was an effort of the TMC supremo to unite all anti-BJP forces keeping in mind 2019 Parliament election.

Ms Banerjee, face of anti-BJP forces across the country, was optimistic to form a Federal Front with all the like-minded leaders and their parties to fight the saffron forces unitedly and dislodge them from the saddle at the Centre.

The AITC ( All India Trinamool Congress) proposed to hold a grand rally at Brigade Parade ground on January 19 where the proposed Federal Front would be launched officially if the present plan of action fructified.

Ms Banerjee has set to win all the 42 seats in West Bengal, whereas the BJP targeted to jack it up to 21 from its present two. The AITC has 34 MPs. (UNI)
