Rs 404 cr released for various dev projects like MGNREGA in J&K

Srinagar: An amount of Rs 404 crore has been released for construction of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) works and towards power purchase liabilities in Jammu and Kashmir.

A Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Raj Bhawan said that on the instructions of Governor N N Vohra, the State Finance Department today released funds of Rs 181 crore for PMGSY Roads, Rs 103 crore for MGNREGA Works and Rs 120 crore for J&K SPDC towards power purchase liabilities.

Giving details, Navin K Choudhary, Principal Secretary to Government, Finance Department, said that while Finance Department will continue to make all efforts to provide timely availability of funds, it is the responsibility of all concerned Administrative Secretaries to ensure timely utilization and submission of utilizations Certificates which will, in turn, help to obtain the next installments from the Government of India, under the various Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

The Governor has directed Principal Secretary Finance to keep him regularly informed about all defaulting
