Civilian injured at gunfight site in Pulwama village succumbs to his injuries

Srinagar: A youth was killed after he was hit with a bullet fired by government forces during clashes in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday.

The youth has been identified as Faizan Ahmad who was hit on his chest. Faizan, a resident of Ladhoo village was a student of class 9th.

More than ten youth sustained injuries in government forces action as clashes between protesters and forces intensified in the south town of Pulwama during a gunfight between militants and forces.

Official sources said that the gunfight between the holed up militants and government forces was underway in Chatepora area of the town.

Earlier protesters pelted government forces with rocks and tried to disrupt their operation against the holed up militants in Pulwama.

Local sources said that soon after the start of the gunfight the protesters started marching towards the gunfight site pelting stones on forces.
