Train services to remain suspended on third day in Kashmir valley

Srinagar: Authorities on Saturday suspended train service again on third day as a precautionary measure in the Kashmir valley, keeping in view the killing of four militants, civilian and a police cop in Anantnag district.

Train service was resumed only on Friday morning after remaining suspended for a day. However, after encounter broke out in Anantnag it was again suspended.

Meanwhile on Friday a fresh advisory was received to suspend train service in the valley on Saturday, a senior railway official said.

Therefore, no train will chug on Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla, on north Kashmir track today.

Similarly, trains will not run on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region, he said.

Four Islamic States u and Kashmir militants, a civilian and an SOG man were killed during the encounter while as scores sustained bullet injuries.
