Government forces on Monday said that they recovered the gun snatched from a cop in Shopian district of South Kashmir within hours.

They said that two civilians had attacked the forces personals on  on Sunday night and snatched a rifle from him.

They said that the boys attacked the cop deployed at Shadra Shareef in Rajouri Jammu during night, and decamped with his service rifle.

However acting promptly the forces held the nakas at several places and apprehended the assailants today early morning during shootout while crossing towards shopian.

Meanwhile the service rifle of cop has also been recoverd.
