India and Pakistan  traded fire along the Line of Control in Kamlakote are of  Uri region in Baramulla district last night.

Sources  said that Pakistan army violated ceasefire around late last night by resorting to firing and shelling. However, there was no immediate report of any loss of life or the property on either side.

On Wednesday,  40,000 evacuated the border areas  on the International Border in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts following a spate of  cross border shelling.

On Tuesday, at least 24 border posts were targeted   resulting in death of one BSF trooper and  injuries to  18 civilians and BSF trooper was killed.

There has been a spike in cross border shelling on the border areas, at least 10 people have been killed and scores injured
