Police on Monday lodged an FIR  against Chowdhary Jitender Singh brother of  former BJP minister,Chowdhary Lal Singh, for using abusive language against chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.

Earlier, in a  video that went viral on social media , Jitender Singh the brother of BJP leader and former minister Chowdhary Lal Singh is seen using ‘shameful’ and ‘vulgar’ language against the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti during the protest in support of Kathua rape accused on Sunday in Jammu.

Director General of Police Dr S P Vaid told media  that  police had taken strong cognizance of the act and had decided to lodge the FIR against the former minister’s brother.

Vaid  had said  that he had personally directed the concerned SSP to lodge an FIR immediately.

Meanwhile, opposition leader and former chief minister Omar Abdullah while taking strong objection to the abusive language against Mehbooba Mufti  demanded stern action against Lal Singh’s brother. In a tweet Omar said that such a language against Mehbooba Mufti was unacceptable and demanded an FIR be lodged against the erring BJP leader’s kin.
