Baramulla, Mar 30: The decomposed body of a missing man was found in River Jhelum at Khadinar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

He was missing for the last one year and has been found dead under mysterious circumstances.

Officials said  that the police authorities recovered the decomposed body in River Jhelum following which it was taken to hospital for post-mortem.

The officials said that the body identified as Abdul Majeed Wani, son of Abdul Karim Wani of Nowrang was missing since last year.

“Police had launched a search to trace him and utilized all resources but till date there were no traces about him. However, a year after he went missing, his decomposed body was recovered from River Jhelum in Baramulla today evening,” they said.

The officials added that the body was handed over to his family for last rites after completion of legal formalities.
