Srinagar, December 26: A militant of ISJK was killed in a gunfight with police and security forces in Khush Roi Kalan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.

A senior police officer said  that a militant identified as Faheem Bhat of ISJK was killed in an encounter.

The operation was jointly launched by Police, army’s 01RR and CRPF in the area after having reliable information about presence of militant in the area.

Earlier Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that the trapped militant was behind Killing of ASI Mohd Ashraf of Police Station Bijbehara and identified the trapped militant as Faheem Bhat of ISJK who recently had joined the militant ranks .gns

According to the KDC news agency, the Faheem had joined the militant ranks three days ago.
