LG’s Principal Secretary, Nitishwar Kumar gets 1-year extension

Srinagar, Nov 30: IAS officer Nitishwar Kumar, the Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has been given one year extension of tenure of inter cadre deputation from UP cadre to J&K UT as a special case.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Department of Personnel and Training (AIS Division) for extension of tenure of Inter Cadre deputation in respect of Nitishwar Kumar IAS (UP: 1996) from Uttar Pradesh cadre to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for a period of one year beyond September 6, 2021 as a special case, in relaxation of the policy,” read a government notification.

Nitishwar Kumar was appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor in September last year.

On September 5, 2020, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet had approved the proposal of DoPT (Department of Personnel & Training) for inter-cadre deputation of Nitishwar Kumar (IAS, 1996 batch) from Uttar Pradesh cadre to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for a period of one year.

Soon after, the General Administration Department of J&K had issued an order posting him as the Principal Secretary replacing Bipul Pathak IAS (J&K: 1992). kdc
