Eight months on 12 % frontline workers yet to get first dose of vaccine; over 35% yet to take second jab

Srinagar, Sep 10: Even after eight months since vaccination drive against Covid-19 was started in J&K, 12 percent frontline workers in J&K are yet to get their first dose of vaccine.

Official sources said around 12 percent front line workers are yet to take first dose of Covid-19 while around 36 percent are yet to get the second jab.

In Srinagar of 61,003 health care workers, 43,076 have received their first jab while 28,200 have received both jabs.

“The percentage of front line care workers who have received the first jab is 71 percent while 46 percent have received the second jab,” data suggests.

“In Kulgam of 7,327 front line workers, 100 percent have received the first jab and 78 percent have received the second jab. In Shopian, of 6311 frontline workers , 77 percent received the first jab and 53 percent received the second jab. In Bandipora, of 11,076 frontline workers, 84 percent and 58 percent have received first and second jabs respectively.”

An official said that in Anantnag of 21,634 front line workers, 68 percent have received the first dose and 46 percent have received the second dose. In Baramulla of 31,685 front line workers, 67 percent have received first jab and 49 percent have received second jab.

“In Kupwara out of 18,748 front line workers, 78 percent have received the first jab and 53 percent have received the second jab. In Pulwama, of 17,832 workers 100 percent have received the first jab while 69 percent have received the second jab. In Ganderbal of 6,519 front line care workers 100 percent have received first jab and 76 percent have received second jab and in Budgam of 23,745 workers 84 percent workers have received first jab while 67 percent have received second jab,” the data reveals.

Similarly, in Jammu, Kishtiwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kuthua, Ramban, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi 94 percent, 100 percent, 88 percent, 100 percent, 100 percent, 100 percent, 95 percent, 98 percent, 87 percent and 100 percent front line workers have received first jab while as 77 percent, 66 percent, 62 percent, 88 percent, 99 percent, 100 percent, 67 percent, 72 percent 59 percent and 81 percent have received second dose respectively.

“In aggregate form, of 3,69, 542 heath care workers, 3,15,606 (88 percent) have received first jab and 2,29,006 (64 percent) have received second jab respectively,” the data reads. kno
