Hideout busted, militant associate arrested in Sopore: Police

Sopore, Jul 08: Sopore police on Thursday claimed to have averted a major tragedy by busting a hideout and arresting one militant associate in Doabgah area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police sources said that a joint team of 22 RR, 179 CRPF, SOG and police launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on credible inputs.

The joint team busted a hideout and arrested one militant associate of Hizbul Mujahideen. During the search, a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, they said.

Police sources said that the hideout was destroyed on the spot in presence of Executive Magistrate, adding that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law in Police Station Sopore and investigation has taken up. kno
