Leopard caught alive in Uri village by wildlife department

Uri, July 04: A Leopard was caught alive by the officials of wildlife department and police in Rampur village of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.

A wildlife official said that the locals approached the department about roaming of Leopard in the area, posing a grave threat to human population.

He said that the officials of the department laid a trap and today evening it was caught. “It will be shifted to Dachigam Zoo.”

Meanwhile, the locals hailed the efforts and timely action of the police and wildlife department. kns
