Thieves break into cattle shed in Drang Budgam, steal 6 sheep, a bull

Budgam, July 03: As Bakar Eid is approaching cattle thieves are on prowl across Kashmir valley, as they broke into a cattle shed at Drang village in Khag in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and took away six sheep and a bull.

An official said that thieves broke into the cattle shed of one Bashir Ahmad, a labourer who works in Srinagar and stole six sheep and a bull.

He said that Bashir had taken the livestock from a few local farmers last month and had planned to pay them off after he would have sold them on the eve of Bakr Eid.

Bashir said that he had bought these animals for around 1.30 lakhs from local farmers.

“I thought I could make some money on the eve of Eid by selling them in Srinagar. I am now completely devastated. I don’t know what to do. Police officials from Khag police station came and registered a case. They tried to arrest some local suspects in Drang village but the suspects ran away. I appeal SSP Budgam to come to my rescue,” said Bashir Ahmad. kns
