Soldier Injured In Firing By ‘Suspicious Armed Persons’ Near LoC In Rajouri

Rajouri, June 30: A soldier suffered ‘minor’ injuries in firing by a ‘suspicious small group armed persons’ along the line of control in Suderbani area of Rajouri district last night, army said on Wednesday.

“Based on information regarding presence of a small group of suspicious armed persons near village Dadal, few kilometres from the Line of Control, search operations were launched last evening,” a defence ministry spokesman said in a statement.

“During the exchange of fire which occurred during the night, one soldier received minor injuries and (was) evacuated,” he said, adding, “Operations are in progress.”

Sources said  that army’s 17 Madaras Regiment are engaged in the operation while a police is ascertaining the incident.
