Poppy cultivation over 27 kanals destroyed in South Kashmir

Anantnag, May 19: Poppy crops spread over 27 kanals of land in south Kashmir have been destroyed by the Excise and Revenue Department in the Kashmir valley. 

The team was led by Tehsildar Sallar Shakeep Ahmed Paul who told news agency Kashmir News Trust that that the enforcement teams destroyed illicit poppy crop spread over 27 kanals of land in Chatrasoo Budroo and Liver villages of Tehsil Sallar in Anantnag.

Tehsildar Sallar said that they had put 14 grass cutter machines in place for the fruitful drive.

“The drive against illegal poppy and bhung cultivation will continue in Sallar Tehsil,” he said.
