Sogam Deputy Magistrate Seizes 7 Shops for Lockdown Violation

Kupwara, May 12: Deputy Magistrate Sogam has on Wednesday seized at least seven shops in main-market and its adjacent areas alleged involvement in Lockdown violation. 

An official said that Deputy Magistrate Fayaz Ahmad Ganaie acting on complaints from general public against some shop-owners alleged of keeping their shops open during the ongoing Lockdown, alongside SHO Sogam Mohammad Shafi Mir inspected the main-market Sogam and its adjacent areas to check the veracity.

During the inspection several shops were found working routinely, prompting the Deputy Magistrate to take immediate action.

On the eve, the team seized shops owned by Abdul Rashid Kumar (Readymade Garments), Tahir Ahmed Lone (Poultry Shop), Abid Ahmed Sheikh (Readymade Garments), Saleem Ganie Bhat (Mobile Telephony Shop) at main-market Sogam alongside three beef shops at Divar owned by Firdous Ahmed Chopan, Imtiyaz Ahmed Chopan and Farooq Ahmed Chopan.

Meanwhile the Deputy Magistrate has urged the people to strictly adhere to Covid-appropriate behavior in the backdrop of continuous surge in COVID positive cases.
