Amid surge in COVID-19, Union Ministers, 9 MPs, defer Kashmir visit

Srinagar, May 04:The proposed visit of several Union Ministers and nine Members of Parliament including some Union Cabinet Ministers have deferred their proposed visit to Kashmir in view of surge in COVID19 cases.

Sources said that they were proposed to arrive in Kashmir on three day visit current month. “The MPs were scheduled to take part in a day long conclave on TV show organized by ANN News wherein they would also share the stage with prominent journalists, medicos, advocates, and other civil society members to debate,” sources said.

Sources added that in conclave, the MPs would speak on issues while other speakers including journalists, media persons and advocates would take up issues faced by the people and different organizations.

The MPs, during their visit which have been deferred due to COVID19, were also schedule to present Awards titled “Super Hero Award” to people having exceptional work in their respective fields, said an official.

Highly placed sources said that the awardees would include top civil and police officials, prominent media persons and social activists.

If sources are to be believed, the MPs, as and when new dates are finalized, would also visit south and north Kashmir besides meeting public delegations and organization representatives in Srinagar.

The conclave, sources said, are being organized by a local TV news channel ANN News.

“The mega award event is being organized under the banner South Asia Peace Movement,” said an official.

He added that ANN News Conclave would be live on ANN News which runs on cable TV, JIO TV, Dailyhunt, Maxplayer, and Paytm.

On 21 March, this year, Members of Parliament led by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leader Chirag Paswan felicitated people from different segments of the society including Police and Civil officials, media and social activists having exceptional services in respective fields in a mega award event titled “Real Hero Awards.”. kno
