900 grams of Heroin recovered from vehicle-borne duo in north-Kashmir’s Handwara: Police Officials

Srinagar, Apr 17: Police have arrested two persons in north-Kashmir’s Handwara on recovery of Heroin on intervening Friday and Saturday night, sources said.

They said that the persons identified as Mohammed Yousaf Bhat resident of Pringroo and Javid Ahmad Khan resident of Gund Chibutra were intercepted by a police team during a naka on intervening Friday and Saturday night, while on board a vehicle Santro bearing registration number JK-09 0504 at Khan Tulwari Langate area.

Upon searches around 900 grams of Heroin were recovered from the vehicle on way to Langate from Pringroo, they said.

It has been in the meantime learnt that one of the apprehended person is a former militant and spouse of Dilshada Begum who happens to be the incumbent Sarpanch of village Pringroo, they further said.

Meanwhile a police official confirming the recovery of contraband said that the duo has been arrested besides the vehicle seized.

Further investigations have been set in motion, the official added. gns
