COVID-19: 07 patients die, 677 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir today recorded seven Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1340 in the Union Territory while 677 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 84708.

Of the total 84,708 cases, 50,746 are from Kashmir and 33,962 from Jammu division.

Among 677 new cases, 364 belong to Kashmir division while as 313 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 50,746 including 43,962 recoveries and 803 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 33,962 including 29,540 recoveries and 437 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 9,866 including 5,881 from Kashmir division and 3,985 from Jammu division.

With 796 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 73,502 which is 86.77 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 145 from Srinagar, 35 from Budgam, 53 from Baramulla, 43 from Pulwama, 18 from Kupwara, 14 from Anantnag, 24 from Bandipora, 22 from Ganderbal, 09 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 313 from Jammu division include 121 from Jammu, 41 from Rajouri, 16 from Udhampur, 23 from Doda, 07 from Kuthua, 12 from Poonch, 21 from Samba, 39 from Kishtiwar, 09 from Ramban and 23 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, seven persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include four from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from from Baramulla and one each from Srinagar and Budgam in Kashmir division while as three deaths from Jammu division include two from Jammu district and one from  Rajouri.

As per officials figures, 16,901 positive cases including 320 deaths and 14,860 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,472 including 90 deaths and 4,729 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,963 including 3,372 recoveries and 132 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,290 including 3,921 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,944 including 70 deaths and 3,257 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,815 including 3,399 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,720 cases including 3,332 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,190 including 2,906 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,349 including 2,222 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,102 including 1,964 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 15,502 including 14,002 recoveries and 227 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,035 including 2,566 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,516 including 2,310 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,411 including 1,894 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Doda, 2,280 including 2,144 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,029 including 1,341 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,010 including 1,581 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Samba, 1,560 including  1,386 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,462 including 1,366 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban and 1,157 including 950 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 617,194 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 24,370 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 9,866 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 532,412 persons have completed surveillance period and 49,206 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,875,262 samples are available.

Out of 1,875,262 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,790,554 while 84,708 have tested positive, among them 9,866 are active, 73,502 persons have recovered and 1,340 persons have died.
