COVID-19: DSEK asks DDMA to vacate Edu institutions being utilized for quarantine centres

Srinagar, Sep 18: In order to conduct annual and bi-annual private examinations of secondary and higher secondary classes, Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Friday asked the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to vacate the educational institutions being utilized for COV1D-19 quarantine centres, if any.

A notification in this regard was issued by the DSEK, in which the department has asked all Deputy Commissioner (DCs) who also hold the portfolio of DDMA chairman to ensure fumigation and sanitization of examination centres day before the commencement of the examination.

The notification states that the DSEK has asked the DDMA authorities to inform the concerned office immediately, if the institution is utilized for COV1D-19 quarantine centre so that the centre is vacated.

“To ensure physical distancing norms, the institutions should make all rooms available to accommodate the examinees and display guidelines within the premises of examination centres regarding social distancing, use of face masks and sanitizers and maintenance of proper hygiene,” it reads.

“In lieu of the instructions it is to request to kindly direct the concerned authorities to get all examination centres fumigated and sanitized in consultation with the Board authorities and also acknowledge the Board authorities on utilization of school for COV1D-19 quarantine centre so that the centre shall be shifted well prior to the commencement of the Board examination,” the notification reads—(KNO)
