Rajnath Singh visits forward post near LoC in Kupwara District in Kashmir, reviews security situation

Srinagar, July 18: Defense minister Rajnath Singh along with Army Chief MM Narvane visited the forward posts along the Line of Control (LOC) in Kupwara district during his second day of the visit to Jammu and Kashmir. 

“Minister Rajnath Singh visited a forward post near LoC in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir today and interacted with the soldiers deployed there. He said that we are extremely proud of these brave and courageous soldiers who are defending our country in every situation,” tweeted the official account of Defence minister Rajnath Singh.

Early in the morning, Defence Minister visited Amarnath Shrine in Kashmir and offered his obeisance there.

According to media reports he spent an hour at the shrine during which he was accompanied by Gen Bipin Rawat, Chief of Defence Staff, Army Chief Gen MM Naravane, and other senior officers of district administration.

During his visit to Srinagar, Singh reviewed the overall security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir with the top military brass in Srinagar which was also attended by J&K Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu, Director General of J&K Police Dilbagh Singh and other senior officers of the civil administration.

In the meeting, Rajnath told the security top brass that it is s high time to use all technical support to plug infiltration completely and to clean Kashmir from the remaining militants by continue to zero collateral damage mantra during anti-militancy operations.
