COVID-19: CRPF man among seven deaths reported in J&K, death toll reaches 195

Srinagar, July 14: Seven more patients including a CRPF man who were died and were tested positive for Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the death of total deaths related to Covid-19 to 195 in J&K.

Officials said that seven patients who died include a 35 year old CRPF man who died at SMHS, 60 year old male from Nadihal Baramulla, 65 year old male from Shopian, 47 year old man from Talab Tiloo, 60 year old male from Tangmarg Baramulla and 60 year old two patients from Anantnag.

Dr Nazir Choudhary, Medical Superintendent at SMHS said  that a 35-year-old CRPF man of 66 Bn CRPF Baramulla who was admitted on Monday and died after a few hours here.

“His sample was taken and results came positive on today afternoon,” he said. Officials said that CRPF man was resident of Nowshera Rajouri and was cremated in Shamshan Ghat Karan Nagar.

Dr Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS said that a 60-year-old man from Nadihal Baramulla who was admitted on 05 July and was tested positive, died on Tuesday morning at 4 AM.

He said the patient was suffering from bilateral community acquired pneumonia, hypertension, diabetes, Chronic Kidney disease and end stage renal stage.

He said that a 60 year old male from Tangmarg Baramulla who was admitted on 13 July and his sample was taken on same day, however, he was tested positive after death. He said that patient was suffering from bilateral pneumonia with ARDS and BHP.

Dr Shifa Deva, Medical Superintendent at JVC Bemina said that a 65-year-old man from  Shopian whose Coronary bypass surgery was already done and was admitted on 10 July, died on Tuesday at around 9:45 am.

The patient was suffering from bilateral pneumonia and other ailments, she said. Officials from GMC Jammu said that the patient was undergoing treatment in GMC Jammu from last two days and was suffering from fever as well as some respiratory problems.

“He was on oxygen support and attempts were made to provide him best possible treatment for life saving but he died.” said officials.

They said that the patient, aged 47, was posted in Directorate office of Agriculture department in Jammu.

Dr Majid Mehrab, Medical Superintendent at GMC Anantnag said that two patient from Semthan and Anantnag were tested positive four days after death. He said that they their last rites took place as per Covid-19 protocol.

With seven more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 195 including 176 from Kashmir division and 18 from Jammu division—(KNO)
