MHA permits to hold final Term Exam as per UGC guidelines

New Delhi, Jul 6: Union Home Ministry on Monday allowed the Universities and Institutions to hold final term examination as per the guidelines of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

In a letter written to Union Higher Education Secretary, the MHA said “ The final Term Examination are be compulsorily conducted as per UGC guidelines on Examination and Academic Calendar for the University and as per the Standard Operative Procedure (SoP) approved by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare”.

The States such as Haryana, Odisha,Madhya Pradesh Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Punjab, have already announced the cancellation of exams in Colleges and Universities in the view of Covid-19 pandemic.

The revised guidelines by the University Grants Commission (UGC) is expected to be issued soon after this notification.

The UGC in April had asked the Universities to conduct examination of the final Term Examination in July.

The guidelines had also said that the students of intermediate semesters should be promoted on the basis of their internal assessment and performance in the previous semester examination, it added.
