Post encounter clashes in Kulgam: Pellet injured youth shifted to Srinagar hospital

Kulgam, July 5: Post encounter clashes leave many youth injured in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district yesterday.

Reports said that government forces fired tear-smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesting youth after the encounter in Arreh Kulgam.

The encounter had left two militants dead while three soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer sustained injuries.

Sources said that during the clashes, a youth suffered pellet injury in his right eye and was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar during late night hours on Saturday.

Hospital sources identified the injured youth as 20 year old Arif Bashir Rather. They said pellets have hit Arif’s right eye but he is stable.

Locals said that Arif was on way to his home when pellets hit him and he was shifted to hospital for treatment. (KNT)
