Shopian encounter: four militants Killed, three soldiers injured

Shopian, June 08: Four militants have been killed in an encounter that broke between militants and the security forces in Pinjura village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday while as three soldiers have been also injured in exchange of fire.

Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar (IPS) told news agency GNS that four militants were killed in the operation, it was clean and swift. However, he said, the identity of the slain militants was yet to be ascertained.

Officials  said that four dead bodies have recovered.

Earlier an official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

Five militants including a top Hizb commander were killed in an encounter at Reban Shopian on Sunday.
