‘Ms Mufti booked still under PSA; Is GOI scared that she’ll articulate her views on abrogation of Article 370’: Ilitija?

Srinagar, March 07: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter, Iltija Mufti has said that, “Ms Mufti is home but still booked under PSA. Media wasn’t given access to her at all despite waiting for hours”.

“Is GOI scared that she’ll articulate her views on illegal abrogation of Article 370? Time doesn’t change facts or erase a betrayal etched in memory,” tweeted Mehbooba Mufti’s official twitter account currently being operated by her daughter, Iltija.

On Tuesday, Mehbooba, presently detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA), was shifted to her residence, though her detention continues, an official order said on Tuesday, 7 April.

Mufti has been in detention for eight months, ever since Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 of the Constitution was taken away and the state bifurcated into two Union territories.

In a series of tweets, Iltija wrote that “Opposing a move that seeks to obliterate our identity has been criminalised. But you can’t wish away the resentment & alienation people feel by criminalising a debate about illegal abrogation of Article 370”.

She also said that when restrictions will be lifted on Mehbooba, she will approach all stake holders for a joint strategy on abrogation of article 370 on August 05.

“When restrictions are finally lifted on Ms Mufti, she will approach all stakeholders for a joint strategy to move forward. She will also speak to the press about her views on what transpired post 5th August,” Iltija tweeted

“Meanwhile, Ms Mufti urges GOI to immediately release all detainees including political leadership jailed in & outside J&K immediately,” the tweet added.
